Archives for the month of: June, 2012

Here’s a sneak preview at a set of 4th of July inspired nail tutorials, to be posted every day until Independence Day. They are all pretty easy and quick to do, so get your red, white and blue polishes ready… Silver sparkly nail polish is a plus.

Story Behind Foto: A friend of mine took this foto, while giving back to the community (volunteering) at a local garden for dogs, and I am so grateful she allowed me to feature it. Isn’t it amazing?! Thank you, friend! Hope you all enjoy, till next post.

Story Behind Foto: a couple of weeks ago went camping at Bear River Reservoir in Northern Ca. to celebrate our anniversary. The guys went fishing and I joined, here’s what I caught – no catch and release for me.

Hello, summer!!! I don’t know about you, but I find that during the summer I am a bit more motivated to work out than usual. Whether it be because I have to squeeze into all the cute summer clothes or just because I want to take advantage of all the outdoorsy summer activities, summer always adds a little oomph to my physical activity.

In honor of the first day of summer I’d like to share a new workout playlist I’ve created. The list consists of up-tempo, (old and new) dance music. I’ve selected these songs, because they are so high energy that you can’t help but keep going. Enjoy the music and may you be fueled to add these songs to your own workout playlist!

Titanium – David Guetta Ft. Sia Let’s Go –

Calvin Harris Ft. Ne-Yo

Cry for You – September

Scream – Usher

Love Don’t Let Me Go – David Guetta

Save the World (Knife Party remix) – Swedish House Mafia

Automatic – Nicki Minaj

Heads Will Roll – Yeah Yeah Yeah’s

Sweat (David Guetta Remix) – Snoop Dogg

Lights – Ellie Goulding

Bringing you another Foto Friday:

Story behind foto: on a gorgeous day along a Wine County road, in Sonoma CA I spotted a field full of brightly colored floweres in the middle of a vineyard, I had to stop and take photos. Enjoy.

So, today we’re focusing on become a better woman and I am sharing a little something I found on-line:

Ten Rules for Brilliant Women by Tara Sophia Mohr

  1.  Make a pact (with yourself and be on your side).
  2. Imagine it ( dream big! “The vision becomes your compass)!
  3. Gasp (step out of your comfort zone and get the adrenaline flowing)!
  4. Get thick skin (learn to take criticism).
  5. Be an arrogant Idiot (have confidence in your abilities and self)!
  6. Question the Voice (in your hear, ask yourself what would ready look like)!
  7. Don’t wait for your Oscar (don’t wait for someone else to discover you and your talents – show the world what you’re made of)!
  8. Filter advice (do research and get advice but know what will for your vision and dreams).
  9. Recover & restore (what works for you, recover if need be).
  10. Let other women know they’re Brilliant (be specific as to why).

So, as I said, I believe all women should be brilliant which is why I am sharing these rules. Go out and be B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T. women!

In an effort to combine my “dual-cultures” (Latino(a) and American), photography, and love of nature I am introducing a new series to the blog, which I am calling:  “Foto Friday.”  The word “foto” translates to photo, making the title photo Friday!

Story behind foto: on a Saturday morning several weeks ago, I was woken up early by my boyfriend who asked if I would join him on his weekly fishing trip, and I did. While he fished, I took photos and more photos. Here I am sharing a photo I was very excited about because I caught the bee in action! Yep, I was less than a foot away from the bee, while it was busy eating the nectar from the flower, the results were worth the risk.

Hope you all enjoy what’s to come.
