Hi all, this is Cristy, back from hiding. This Friday, I thought I’d share a photo I captured at a mind, body and soul retreat in Crestline, CA. I took this photo after taking some time to sit by the water and meditate. Sitting my the water and just listening to Mother Nature while I organized my thoughts was a very relaxing and much needed moment.

Anyway, thank you all for stopping by our page and I hope this picture inspires you to take a moment to pause and take in the beauty of Mother Earth :)..

Story Behind Foto: “Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t turn out – take another shot.” — Unknown

I found this quote through Pinterest and I find it so inspiring and spot on. Sweet and to the point!

Thank you for visiting our blog,

Youngs Vineyard 2013_01

Story Behind Foto: A couple of weeks ago one of my college friends visited me. I cannot tell you how nice it was to catch up and talk to a familiar face. Oh how I miss those little moments we had back in college; lazy Sunday laying out on the beach or staying in to watch a movie with all the girls. We made some great memories!

Oh the memories, so glad I left my comfort zone (Northern CA) to explore Southern California and make new friendships. The years I lived in SoCal will be embedded in my brain for as long as I should live.

So friendship, Mr. William Shakespeare sums it up well, “A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”

I took this foto while we were wine tasting in Amador County at Young’s Vineyard. If you are ever in this area, check out this winery. I fell in LOVE with it. It would be a beautiful wedding site. The best way I can describe it is as a winery/farm/garden surrounded by tranquil luscious green lawns. Talking about the winery, the wine we enjoyed was their 2011 Zinfandel. Thanks for your visit,

Story Behind Foto: Recently I realized that I tend to focus too much on the future whether it is my career, mom’s health, family or relationship. I am constantly trying to figure out how to make it better, how to improve, or what is in store for me. Long story short, it is a bit exhausting and stressful!

While talking to a friend, I was reminded to “stop and smell the roses,” or in my case, relax a bit and focus on the progress I’ve made. Focus on what I have now! The conversation made me realize that if I continue to focus on what may be I am totally missing out on the NOW. I am thinking this would be a good time in my life to read, “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.

So, let this be a reminder to us, “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” – Buddha
